OCP Threshold

Set an overcurrent trip point and size the reference network.

Formulas

Itrip = Vref / (Rshunt × G)

Vref = Idesired × Rshunt × G; G = Vref / (Idesired × Rshunt)

Rtop = Rbottom × (Vsupply / Vref − 1)

Error = (Itrip − Idesired) / Idesired × 100%; Pshunt = Itrip² × Rshunt

Suggested reset current = 0.95 × Itrip; hysteresis band = 0.05 × Vref

Model & assumptions

The hysteresis suggestion is a 5% engineering starting point, not a feedback-resistor design. Comparator topology, output levels, and propagation delay must be checked.

Divider mode reports an ideal Rtop and an E24 suggestion with its actual trip current.
